Tony Eusoff plays a hard-nosed news hound who lets nothing stand in his way in FRONTPAGE.
The first thing actor Tony Eusoff does when he gets his morning paper is to see what’s on the front page.
He said: “It is the most deserving news, that is why it is on the cover. From there, I will continue to read that story in the inside pages.”
So it seems most apt that he is playing an investigative journalist in the new one-hour series,
FRONTPAGE, which makes its debut on Ntv7 at 9.45pm revolves around a group of investigative journalists who do whatever it takes to get a story.
Each episode is loosely based on front page headlines of national newspapers. It offers a behind the scenes look of a daily newspaper called The Voice, starting out from the editorial floor to the story being printed.
In between, there is also drama on the editorial floor involving journalists and editors.

Tony plays Jack Lee, a passionate reporter who’s constantly looking for controversial stories. He is also a man who learned the hard way that some things are not within his control, especially when it concerns touchy topics and the newspaper is unsure whether the story will do more harm than good.
As a rookie reporter, Lee made a promise to a whistleblower that he couldn’t keep, which ended up with the whistleblower committing suicide.
Feeling responsible for what happened, Lee carried the burden for a long time. This also spurred him to dig harder for the truth for his future stories, and to never grow too attached to a story. Lee is so dedicated to his job that he refuses to take on a desk job.
To research for his role in the series, Tony spoke to some investigative journalists whom he knows, especially journalists who were actually attacked because they were going after stories they weren’t supposed to be delving into. In the pilot of this series directed by Kabir Bhatia – titled No Way Out – we follow Lee as he investigates a gang that is gaining popularity for its Robin Hood-like activities.
Unknown to the public, the gang members are violent men who use axes as their weapon of choice. As their adventures fill the front pages of every dailies, Lee gets a call. He is contacted by a member of the gang who wants out and he’s willing to talk.
Tony said: “This mole has decided to tell my character everything he knows, wanting to do something good for a change.”
But nothing ever works out the way we want. Find out what happens to the mole – will his story get printed, which in turn will get the other members arrested – or will everything go awry?
FRONTPAGE also stars Bernie Chan, Jehan Miskin, Cheryl Samad, Nell Ng and Nurakhtar Mohd Amin.
